Physical Education

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The physical education department will be introducing a floor hockey unit in the month of April. Students will learn the correct way to stick handle, pass, shoot and learning about the different hockey positions. At the end of the unit the students will play a floor hockey game.

Rigorous Instruction

Instruction is customized, inclusive, motivating, and aligned to the Common Core. High standards are set in every classroom. Students are actively engaged in ambitious intellectual activity and developing critical thinking skills.

Units of Study: The floor hockey unit will incorporate the importance of teamwork and working together as a team. As well as the students learning the skills needed to play floor hockey. Skills will include stick handling the floor hockey ball, passing the floor hockey ball, shooting the floor hockey ball and learning about the different positions in the game of floor hockey. At the end of the unit the students will play a floor hockey game.

The physical education department will be holding a workshop to better explain the game of floor hockey. I will go over all the different skills that the students will be working on. So, at the end of the unit they will have the skills to play a game of floor hockey.
